When complete 1-1 will move to RV5 and hold while 1-2 moves off to red 14-25 to gather intel for follow on operations.   5. After a small patrol to the south on the 13/05/19 we have acquired the above intel. Section assaulted a small abandoned building near RV5, after the grenade was posted not much was left other than weapon systems and some intel regarding civilian recruitment post. IED threat has been identified within Makan.

SCHEME OF MANOEUVRE: 1 Troop will move to RV’s 1-2 (1-1/1-2/1-3) on arrival 1-1 will secure RV2, 1-2 will push of to the East and take up position on high point 142. Once complete 1-3 will then proceed to clear the western half of Salam. When complete 1-3 are to assume a defensive posture, 1-1 will then push to the West half of Salam and proceed with the clearance. 1-2/1-3 will move across their respective flanks to support 1-1 with their tasking. On completion 1 Troop will move to RV3. On arriving to RV4 1-3 will hold in reserve while 1-2 will patrol through and interacting with the local population. 1-1 will carry out a patrol on the flank to the west giving 1-2 mutual support. When content with the situation 1 Troop will move to RV5-FRV. MAIN EFFORT: My main effort is placed on 1-1/1-3 for the clearance of Salam to ensure town is clear of fighters and equipment. EXECUTION: CONCEPT OF OPERATIONS: INTENT: My intent is to secure the ground to the south of FOB Nazad in order to deny taliban presents and to gain an information picture. SCHEME OF MANOEUVRE: 1 Troop will move through RV’s 1-2 to reach the town of Idak. Once in Idak J-1-1 is to provide security on the MSR to the East. J-1-2 is to patrol through Idak and speak with the local population. J-1-3 Will take up an OP on high point 171 to the south west. 0A will attach to 1-2 and assist. Once content 1 Troop will continue RV’s 3-4 J-1-1 will then proceed to the compounds ensuring that they are secure to allow free flow of traffic between Makan and Idak. J-1-2/1-3 will hold and RV4 until required. When secure 1 Troop will proceed to Makan via RV’s 4-5. J-1-2 will provide an OP on high point 173 to the south of RV5. J-1-3 Will proceed to Makan’s fuel station to ensure key infrastructure is secure. J-1-1 will be held at RV5 in reserve. On leaving Makan 1 Troop will patrol via RV6-FRV engaging any contacts and ultimately taking the fight to the enemy if required. MAIN EFFORT: My main effort is placed with 1-3/1-2 to acquire good intelligence to build a better recce picture, and to secure key infrastructure. SUBORDINATE MISSIONS: J-1-1 will be patrol lead during the entreaty. 1-3/1-2 will be looking for any intel to help us better understand the current picture.
